If the carton covers 22.5 sq ft: 996.4 ÷ 22.5 = 44.28, so 45 cartons.
Transitions at two doorways stay on a separate linear-foot line.
Bamboo estimates go wrong when the schedule says only “bamboo.” Horizontal grain, vertical grain, and strand-woven boards do not share a carton, a hardness assumption, or always an installation method. The takeoff follows the specification, then the board size.
Name the construction
Write horizontal, vertical, or strand on the quantity line, plus solid or engineered if the spec says so. A substitution between them is a product change, not a coverage tweak.
Match the fastener to the method
Nail-down, staple-down, and glue-down consume different accessories. Count fasteners or adhesive from the selected method and the product’s coverage data. A floating bamboo floor, when the product allows it, needs the underlayment the instructions name and expansion space at the perimeter.
Acclimation is a condition, not a percentage
Board moisture and site conditions come from the product instructions. Do not turn “acclimation” into an extra waste percentage. If the job requires on-site conditioning time, that is a schedule note for the installer, not more cartons.
Use it only as a layout starting point for a board product installed in a straight lay. Diagonal or herringbone layouts need the higher bands published for those patterns, and the product instructions still govern.
Do you price bamboo as hardwood?
No. The estimate carries the specified product’s quote. A hardwood unit price is a different material.
Request a bamboo board schedule
Send the current drawings, finish schedule, and the quantity format you need. The quote confirms fee, delivery date, and exclusions.
