No. Any dollar figure on this site is a planning example unless it cites a dated quote. Compare systems by what is included, then price the specified system.

Compare epoxy systems, not a single coat

The coverage number below is a placeholder for the data sheet. Replace it with the specified product.
- Room to receive the specified build coat: 3,500 sq ft.
- If the data sheet says one kit covers 500 sq ft at the specified thickness: 3,500 ÷ 500 = 7 kits exactly.
- A second coat, if required, is another 7 kits of that product, not a vague “extra.”
- Joint filler in a 15 ft grid is still a linear-foot item and is not inside the 7 kits.
Epoxy prices collapse different systems into one phrase. A penetrating sealer, a two-coat thin-film floor, a slurry or mortar build, and a urethane-cement kitchen floor do not belong in one square-foot comparison.
Prep is most of the risk
- Shotblast or grind profile, joint treatment, and oil or existing-coating removal are scope. A material-only kit price assumes the slab is already in the condition the resin manufacturer requires. Say so if that is the assumption.
Count coats and flake or quartz as extras
- A broadcast flake or quartz system adds the broadcast material and often a different topcoat. Include them when the finish schedule shows them. A sample board is not a quantity.
Coverage is a data-sheet number
- Kits cover a stated area at a stated thickness. Divide the area by that coverage and round up to whole kits. Do not apply a tile-waste percentage to a liquid system and also round the kits up without showing both.

Does epoxy waterproof a slab?
A coating is not a substitute for the moisture limits in its own instructions. If the slab needs moisture mitigation, that is a separate system with its own coverage rate.
