Ohio plant floors are joints, coats, and a winter entry
Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati show up in flooring sets as distribution buildings, plants, and older commercial renovations. The useful split is the slab and the entry, not the city slogan. Freeze-thaw at the door and forklift joints in the aisle are the two conditions that change the lines on the sheet.
Joints before coating
Carry joint filler in linear feet from the slab drawing, then the coating as kits at the data-sheet coverage. A sealer and a mortar system are different kit math.
Winter entries
Same rule as other freeze-thaw states: the vestibule finish is its own area, because salt and water land there first.
Renovations of existing slabs
An existing coating or tile has a demolition area. Do not assume the new coating covers the gross building without a demolition note.
Worked coating kits on one aisle bay
- Aisle zone marked to receive the specified build coat: 6,000 sq ft.
- Placeholder coverage, to be replaced by the data sheet: 400 sq ft per kit. 6,000 ÷ 400 = 15 kits.
- A required topcoat is another line, using that product’s coverage, not a copy of the 15 unless the data sheet matches.
- Office tile inside the same footprint is excluded from the 6,000.
The allowance is an example inside a band already published on this site. It is not a local price and not a required waste factor.
